Michael G. Morris joined Newmark in 1998 at its New York headquarters, where he currently serves as a vice chairman. Michael brings to his practice a wealth of experience in strategic planning, business continuity planning, merger and acquisition due diligence, cost reduction analysis and lease negotiations. To date, he has completed more than 1,500 assignments totaling more than 30.0 million square feet and encompassing every facet of real estate and operations. Focused on New York City office leasing, multinational corporate portfolio management and data center consulting, Michael serves an extensive clientele that includes some of the largest publicly and privately held organizations in the U.S. and around the world.
Deeply experienced in New York City office leasing, Michael has represented numerous high-profile tenants and buildings in the marketplace. He has negotiated complex transactions and is familiar with local trends, submarkets, and developments. His profile includes some of the most recognizable office buildings in the world.
For more than 15 years, Michael has been managing global real estate portfolios for multinational organizations in more than 40 countries. He has developed and implemented strategies across the globe, including numerous regional consolidations and relocations on six continents. In addition to office and industrial transactions, he has led purchase and sale transactions, ground lease acquisitions and dispositions and worker counsel presentations. He follows global trends and is familiar with demographics, markets, cultures, efficiencies, economics, operations, incentives and arbitrage in nearly every city of the world.
Michael has numerous data center design certifications. He has performed site selection, relocation, business continuity planning, latency evaluations, disaster recovery studies, tax implications and incentives, development, represented numerous data center occupants and owners. He is well-versed in data center efficiencies, construction, power, utilization, equipment and infrastructure.

Michael holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in interdisciplinary studies with focuses in business and philosophy from the State University College at Oneonta.
