Mary Hines established her foothold in real estate in 1999 and has since distinguished herself as a dominant broker in the Bay Area. As an Executive Managing Director with Newmark’s San Mateo office, Hines represents a number of esteemed tenants and landlords. She is recognized both locally and nationally for her advisory work within the life science and biotech industries and is ranked among the top female life science brokers along with her partner, Executive Managing Director Jennifer Vergara. Over the course of their partnership, Hines and Vergara have represented more than 12 million square feet of life science transactions.
Hines prides herself on taking a strategic approach on each deal. Her unique skill set allows her to successfully complete a wide range of transactions. She has located flexible incubator space for a university start-up, represented venture-funded companies in leasing specialized laboratory facilities, managed complex land acquisitions on behalf of large pharmaceutical companies, and represented both publically traded life science REITs and institutional landlords in the leasing of highly improved laboratory buildings (totaling over 1.5 million square feet).
Hines joined Newmark in 2016 after more than seven years with Kidder Mathews, where she served as an Executive Managing Director. She began her real estate career as a tenant representation broker.
Hines is fluent in mandarin Chinese and has traveled internationally to Shanghai, Beijing and Australia on behalf of her clients.
