Newmark has announced the completion of a 37,830-square-foot lease for the new Atlanta campus of South College, a regionally accredited private co-educational, non-sectarian academic institution with campuses in Tennessee and North Carolina. The Atlanta location will be South College’s first campus in Georgia and fourth campus in the Southeast.
As an anchor tenant, South College will occupy nearly 40 percent of the 98,950-square-foot building and install building top signage for maximum visibility to the community. To ensure easy accessibility for students, there will be multiple points of ingress and egress to the building including the Clairmont Road exit and Buford Highway. The school will move into its new space this week.
Owned and managed by Highwoods Properties, the building is located in Northeast Atlanta at 2500 Century Parkway Northeast. Newmark’s senior managing director Aaron Sommer and managing director Beau Odom represented the tenant.
“Accessibility was important for South College, and in addition to ample parking and multiple points of ingress and egress, this building is ideally located near institutions such as Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s new project at Druid Hills, which complements the school’s healthcare based curriculum,” said Sommer. “Our team also secured building top lighted signage, which is visible from I-85, on the east and south sides of the building. We look forward to hearing about the student and faculty’s experience at the new campus.”
With more than 60 degree programs, South College is known for its diverse student population, which ranges from recent high school graduates to veterans entering careers after military service. The college focuses on offering small class sizes, experienced and friendly faculty and staff, state-of-the-art labs and career-driven curricula that delivers a thriving college community and challenging learning environment.
“We’re excited to bring the first Georgia-based South College campus to Atlanta,” said Josh Huffaker, campus president at South College in Atlanta. “The Newmark team did a masterful job helping us to find this very unique property that lends itself well to a college use. In addition to its location and accessibility, we are particularly excited about the outside courtyard space at the center of the building that will provide students with an area to collaborate, share ideas and host special events.”
Programs, credential levels, technology and scheduling options vary by campus and are subject to change. Not all online programs are available to residents of all U.S. states. South College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award doctoral, educational specialist, master’s, baccalaureate, and associate degrees.
