Newmark is pleased to announce the recent addition of Janey Steinmetz as an associate director based in the firm’s Stamford, Connecticut office. Steinmetz will focus on the development of Newmark’s restaurant and retail services businesses, specializing in high street retail and luxury markets. She concentrates on developing and executing thoughtful and creative real estate solutions that align with each of her client’s unique business objectives.
Over the course of her career, Steinmetz has completed numerous transactions with high profile local, regional and national retail tenants including Starbucks, Chipotle, The UPS Store, AT&T, PJ Clarke’s, Sprint, Insomnia Cookies and solidcore. Steinmetz is well-versed in large-scale master plan development projects and represented the University of Pennsylvania in planning and leasing its 350,000-square-foot retail portfolio. Additionally, she spearheaded the leasing efforts for new construction and redevelopment projects for The Summit at Drexel University and The Curtis. Steinmetz has experience with deals of all sizes, across a broad range of industries including food and beverage, boutique clothing stores, hair and nail salons, personal fitness studios, home design centers and other retail services. She specializes in strategic expansion programs for retailers and restaurants, creating real estate solutions that fit individual clients’ needs.
Before joining Newmark, Steinmetz was an associate at MSC Retail, Inc. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she gained experience representing a variety of landlords in their leasing transactions, including REIT’s such as American Campus Communities and Ashkenazy Acquisitions Corporations; Universities including University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University; and local Philadelphia developers. Steinmetz recently relocated from Philadelphia to Stamford, Connecticut and holds real estate licenses in the States of Pennsylvania and Connecticut.
