Simon is Co-Head of Business Rates for Newmark UK. He is responsible for coordinating rating advisory services across the business and leading the firm’s 60+ rating surveyors who have saved clients over £3bn since the 2010 rating revaluation. Simon is a UK national council member and the current National President of the Institute of Revenues Rating and Valuation (IRRV). He is a member of The Rating Surveyors’ Association and sits on the RICS Rating and Local Taxation Advisory Forum.
Simon deals with all rating matters for clients and has handled appeals for a wide range of property types for over 25 years with particular emphasis on the manufacturing, distribution and general industrial sectors.
He provides strategic rating advice on many nationwide portfolios covering all aspects of rate management, appeal strategy and other non-appeal related rating matters including advice in respect of strategies to minimise empty rate liabilities.
