LONDON, UK (19 March, 2026) – Newmark today announced the expansion of its Hotels team with three senior appointments to strengthen and scale the firm’s hotel valuation, consultancy and advisory capabilities.
Ian Elliott and Agata Janda join as Partners on the Valuation and Advisory team, while Cherise Smith joins as a Partner, specialising in Hotel and Resort Consultancy. The appointments strengthen Newmark’s hotel offering and enhance its ability to deliver integrated consultancy, valuation and strategic advice across the full hotel lifecycle for investors, operators, lenders, developers and public sector clients amid growing demand for specialist, end-to-end expertise.
Elliott joins as a Partner, specialising in hotel valuations across the UK and Europe, bringing more than 20 years of sector experience and a decade in development and transactions. He strengthens Newmark’s capabilities across hotel portfolio and loan security valuations, with specialist expertise in non‑urban hotels, resorts, mixed‑use development and expert witness work. Last year, he advised on assets with an aggregate value exceeding £15 billion. He joins from Avison Young where he was Head of Hotels. Prior to Avison Young, Elliott was Head of Hotels at Knight Frank.
With more than 15 years’ experience advising on hotel valuations across the UK and Europe, Janda’s pan‑European background includes leading the hotels team at JLL in Warsaw. She further strengthens Newmark’s lender‑focused valuation work and institutional advisory capability. Janda also joins from Avison Young where she was a Director.
With over two decades of industry experience, Smith brings deep expertise in feasibility studies, market need assessments, operator selection, demand capacity studies and planning support. Her appointment strengthens Newmark’s front‑end advisory capability, particularly for developers and investors at the early stages of hotel projects. She joins from Colliers where she was a Director.
William Kirkpatrick, Head of Hotels and Extended Stay at Newmark UK, said: “The appointments of Ian, Agata and Cherise build on our long‑standing advisory strength and underscore our continued investment in curating our specialist expertise for the benefit of our clients. We are engineered to drive success for our clients. Working alongside our established team, their arrival enhances our ability to support increasingly complex hotel mandates with greater depth and scale in the UK and mainland Europe.”
