Newmark announces that is has arranged a $96.5 million loan on behalf of owners and developers—Joy Construction, MADDD Equities and Drew Katz—to refinance The Lewis, a luxury multifamily property strategically located in Manhattan’s Hudson Yards neighborhood. The building was named after the late philanthropist Lewis Katz who passed away in 2014 and his family are partners in the asset. Newmark’s Jordan Roeschlaub, Nick Scribani, Adam Doneger, Ricky Braha and Sam Speciale, secured the financing from Värde Partners.
Delivered in 2018, The Lewis offers residents stylish and thoughtfully crafted apartments featuring condominium-level finishes in all 186 units. The curated mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units feature modern styling and premium materials, with private terraces in select units. Complementing the residences, is an exceptional amenity package, including a 24/7 concierge service, a state-of-the-art fitness center with complementary yoga classes and unique residence lounges on every floor.
In addition to the 124,004 square feet of residential space, the Property includes 27,245 square feet of commercial space that spans three, fully occupied retail units. The Lewis also benefits from New York’s 421-A tax abatement through June 2029, at which point all units will become market rate, unconstrained by legal rents.
