I am part of the Energy and Industrial advisory and Business Rates team. My time is split between specialist valuation for rating and other valuation purposes, and transactional as well as commercial advisory. My experience lies with the valuation of energy subjects for rating purposes in addition to investment, leasing and strategic consultancy work for energy and infrastructure projects.
I specialise in the energy sector and provide a range of services to clients in relation to their land and property interests. I work extensively in the valuation for the rating of wind farms, battery storage, hydro and other energy related premises. Additionally, I provide advice to power generating and other utility providers in Scotland dealing with transmission and distribution networks, power stations and renewables sites.
I advise on land options, leases, and purchases to ensure developers secure the appropriate land rights. I am also responsible for ongoing relationships with landowners throughout the lifecycle of renewable energy projects.
Some of my recent projects have included acquisition and compensation matters relating to specialist energy projects, and strategic advice on estate management and lease consultancy terms as well as development agreements. Projects include port leases for offshore wind marshalling, rural land acquisition, hydrogen and battery project site identification, and subsequent acquisition.
I am a RICS registered valuer, and I represent Newmark on the SPF committee member for commercial real estate and the business rates working group. I am committed to staying abreast of current issues in the market with other leading individuals in the sector and believe I can make a positive contribution to property in Scotland.
