Richard is a Consultant in the Building Consultancy team based in London with extensive experience of building projects, teams and relationships. He advises investors, developers and occupiers on acquisitions, joint ventures and construction projects and has a clear understanding of how our advice sits within the wider commercial context of any transaction.
He has delivered complex projects throughout the UK and Mainland Europe and has a thorough understanding of what is important to investors and occupiers and in the identification and management of technical and construction risk.
Richard currently advises The Church Commissioners for England, Triple Point, Whitbread, Aspris, Morden College and The Royal Institution of Great Britain. He has worked with a wide range of investors including The Crown Estate, Aviva, Legal and General, Hermes and M and G.
Recent projects
- Education Sector – Richard advised a range of London Universities including UCL, UOL, University of the Arts and Birkbeck College. Advised Galileo Global Education on their recent acquisitions of Regents University and Liverpool Media Academy. He continues to support a number of independent schools in estate rationalisation and restructuring projects and in the project management of new build and refurbishment schemes.
- Investors and Occupiers – Richard advises a wide range of investors and occupiers on due diligence at the time of acquisition and how to get the most out of their buildings and estates in their ongoing management.
- Public Private Partnerships - Richard acted on behalf of Trillium in their bid for the DSS portfolio and for Skanska on the Ministry of Defence, Whitehall and St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London projects and has advised the National Audit Office on post implementation reviews of completed projects. More recently, he advised the MOD as part of the rent review arbitration proceedings for the Married Quarters Estate and G4S on the completion and handover provisions of HMP Five Ways prison.
