I am a Senior Associate Consultant based in our Glasgow Office in the Business Rates team. I bring experience from decades working in Local Government, laterally as my role as Assessor and Electoral Registration Officer for Lanarkshire. My experience spans a variety of property types in addition to specialist utility subjects, with a primary focus on valuation of non-domestic properties.
I have been a chartered surveyor since 1997 and during that period, I was employed by four different Assessor’s Departments in a variety of roles culminating as the Assessor and Electoral Registration Officer for Lanarkshire.
I have a great deal of experience in valuation and appeal settlement of many types of lands and heritages from bulk categories to more specialised categories.
As a Valuer within the Specialist Valuation Unit, a Lanarkshire Valuation Joint Board, I was responsible for the valuation and appeal settlement of subjects including electricity generation from Landfill Gas, Coal, Gas and Biomass. I was the Scottish Assessors Association (SAA) practice note author for Wind Farms at both the 2010 & 2017 revaluation and led negotiations on behalf of the SAA with a variety of private rating agents to agree the practice note.
