I’m a leader in Newmark UK’s lease consultancy team in London. I specialise in lease exit matters including liability provisioning and the negotiation of surrenders, re-gears, break clauses and dilapidations.
I previously worked for a German developer and Deloitte. Since 2010 I have focused exclusively on lease exits and specialise in aligning occupational lease exit strategies with business objectives. I have provided expert witness advice and evidence in European service charge disputes and Section 18 valuations across the UK.
Key clients include Close Brothers, UniCredit, China Construction Bank, Prudential, IWG Group, University of Bedfordshire, Moorfields Eye Hospital, St Mungo’s Broadway, Arts Council of England, the Financial Conduct Authority, and the Competition and Markets Authority.
Recent Projects
- Canary Wharf – I lead our offering, where we exclusively provide cost mitigation solutions to occupiers on over 1.5 million sq ft of offices.
- FCA – The FCA relocated c.4,000 staff to Stratford in the UK’s largest single tenant office move in 2018. I worked with the Board to effectively manage commercial risks and exit costs on +400,000 sq ft of offices. I now lead Newmark’s appointment, ensuring our holistic approach to real estate consultancy services.
- CMA – We support the CMA deliver its unique workplace strategy. I lead client services under our public sector CCS contract which incorporates; agency, lease consultancy, building surveying, and programme management advice. I have supported the CMA with key deliverables such as property strategy, PCAR and SAMP reports.
- Mapeley Estates – I was contract manager supporting a programme of portfolio rationalisation over a 10-year relationship. Our team secured +£80 million in savings on c.4.5 million sq ft of accommodation occupied by HMRC, IPS, VOA and the UK Border Agency.
