James is an Associate in the Energy team at Newmark where he specialises in Energy, Data Centres and Strategic Land. Based in Newmark’s Birmingham Office, James is often in the London and Glasgow Office.
James has undertaken feasibility studies for a range of clients seeking to explore potential renewable developments and diversifications on their holdings; including but not limited to wind projects in Scotland and Northern Ireland, and BESS and Solar projects across the UK and Europe. James has negotiated commercial terms on behalf of landlords and developers looking to lease and secure land respectively for both small-scale and large-scale Energy & Data Centre projects. This has included both direct wire (behind the meter) and utility (in front of the meter) projects.
James has also been extensively involved with the valuation of energy projects for both company accounts and reporting purposes, loan security as well as underwriting energy M&A projects. He undertakes sensitivity analysis to account for any changes in production or fluctuations in national (and global) energy prices. This has included both operational sites and ‘ready to build sites across multiple technologies.
