Charlie is an Associate based in Newmark’s London West End office, providing advice regarding minerals, waste management and related industries. He joined Newmark in 2018 after completing an undergraduate degree in Engineering Geology and a master’s degree in Surveying and Land/Environment Management at Camborne School of Mines. He has also worked as a Grade Control Geologist in the china clay operations situated in St Austell, Cornwall. His skillset extends to estates management, landlord and tenant, and agency advice for mineral and waste property. Clients he has worked for include operators, landlords, tenants, lending institutions and acquiring authorities.
Charlie is a Chartered Surveyor, RICS Registered Valuer and member of the Rating Surveyors’ Association, experienced in a range of mineral and waste asset types, and has undertaken work for a variety of client sites across the south of England. Our Minerals team extend to regional offices in Leeds and Cardiff, and we frequently collaborate on projects to utilise specialist regional knowledge.

- He has undertaken valuations for a range of purposes including internal reporting, secured lending, negotiation advice, and compensation.
- He has completed a substantial amount of business rates work which has encompassed; negotiating significant reductions to business rates assessments; securing rate relief for unoccupied property; recommending accruals; advising appropriate recharges for tenanted property.
- He has successfully negotiated compensation for a variety of mineral and waste property types. His experience includes mineral reserves sterilised by infrastructure; sterilised void reserves; and mineral handling sites acquired for redevelopment.
