I am a part of the Business Rates team at our Glasgow office, having joined Newmark in 2023. Withextensive experience in surveying and property related roles, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the firm. My career includes many years spent at an Assessor’s office, where I engaged in diverse tasks related to both non-domestic rates and council tax.
My initial project at Newmark involved reviewing over 700 rateable values in the industrial sector, catering to both major national and local independent clients. The aim was to determine if any proposals should be submitted for the 2023 Revaluation. Subsequently, I conducted rental analysis and investigation to identify potential factual errors to be incorporated into the proposal submission to the Assessor.
In negotiations with Assessors, I have secured in excess of £2.5m in rates savings for clients during the 2023 Revaluation. I am responsible for compiling and submitting Assessor Information Notices for clients, ensuring they are returned on time to avoid any penalties.
