BIRMINGHAM, UK (03 February, 2026) — Newmark has provided pro bono property advisory support to James’ Place, a charity offering free, life-saving therapy to men in suicidal crisis, to secure a new centre in Birmingham. With existing centres in London, Liverpool and Newcastle, the new Birmingham location marks a significant expansion of the charity’s life-saving services into the West Midlands. The instruction was led by Partner George Jennings, acting on behalf of the charity.
The property, located at 34 Harborne Road, will be used as a dedicated therapeutic and office space. Spanning 3,303 square feet and arranged over three floors, the building will undergo a complete refurbishment prior to occupation, allowing the charity to tailor the space to its therapeutic model and provide a safe environment for those in crisis.
Jennings commented: “It has been a privilege to support James’ Place to help secure its first centre in Birmingham. From the outset, it was important to fully understand the charity’s needs and ensure we found a building that could be adapted to support its incredibly important work.”
Rosie Barrett, Expansion Programme Manager at James’ Place added: “Expanding into Birmingham is a hugely important milestone for us, allowing us to reach many more men who need urgent support. Having the right building is critical to creating the calm and safe environment needed, and we’re extremely grateful to the Newmark team for their support in making this possible.”
James’ Place Birmingham is expected to open in Spring 2026.

- James’ Place stops men dying by suicide. The charity quickly gets to the heart of a man’s suicidal crisis and helps him solve it.
