Dan Baker joined Newmark in 2025 as a Managing Director within the Multifamily Debt & Structured Finance group. Based in St. Louis, he brings more than 15 years of experience in commercial real estate finance and focuses on originating debt and structured capital solutions for multifamily and commercial property owners.
Baker works closely with clients to source financing through Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, life insurance companies, Wall Street conduits, HUD, debt funds, banks, and credit unions. In addition to senior debt, he advises on preferred equity, mezzanine financing, and equity placement, enabling tailored capital stacks across a wide range of transaction profiles.
He began his career in community banking in St. Louis, where he developed a strong underwriting foundation and deep knowledge of the local market, before transitioning into mortgage banking. Over the course of his career, Baker has been responsible for the origination and underwriting of more than $1.3 billion in loans and equity placements.
Education
Baker graduated from Truman State University where he earned a Business Administration degree in finance and marketing.
