Aric Trakhtenberg serves as an associate director with Newmark in New York City, where he specializes in landlord and tenant representation.
As a tenant representative, Aric has secured real estate for national and local Michelin-starred restaurateurs, food halls, urban apparel brands, financial institutions, medical businesses, hotels and a high volume of locally-owned businesses that helped transform neighborhoods. He recently assisted the London urban apparel/skateboard shop Palace in securing its New York City flagship at 49 Howard Street in SoHo; Books of Wonder in securing its second store, which was the model for the children’s bookstore in “You’ve Got Mail,” at 217 West 84th Street on the Upper West Side; and Federal Savings Bank for a space at 125 Maiden Lane in the Financial District. In Harlem, he helped procure 701 West 135th Street, a 19,168-square-foot property, for a sports bar owned by JF Hospitality Group LLC. In Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood, he negotiated a 30,000-square-foot space in Industry City with exposure to the Brooklyn Queens Expressway for Japan Village and Sunrise Market. Also in Brooklyn, Aric closed two deals in the Flatbush neighborhood, one for Dixie BBQ at 1316 Avenue J and another for BASH at 3003 Avenue J, for the co-owner of Fuego By Mana in Miami, a renowned kosher chef. He completed a deal for The Workshop Project Inc., a New York regents certified Middle School for 10,000 square feet at 495 Flatbush Avenue, at 319 Graham Avenue in Williamsburg, Aric represented Home Union, a mid-century furniture and home goods retailer for their 3,400-square-foot lease. Also in Williamsburg, he completed a 2,350-square-foot lease on behalf of The Attic at 231 Grand Street. In Brooklyn Heights, he completed a deal for BQE Ophthalmology at 120 Atlantic Avenue. Aric completed two deals at 14 Clermont Avenue at the Brooklyn Navy Yard; HeadHi Coffee/Book Shop for 600 square feet and Dandy Farmer for 1,500 square feet. At 7134 Austin Street in Forest Hills, Queens, Aric completed a 3,000-square-foot deal for Tamashii Red Restaurant. He completed a 2,239-square-foot deal at 274 Madison Avenue on behalf of PURE OBGYN,
Aric possesses detailed knowledge of New York City’s commercial corridors and insights into retail trends. He is an advisor to real estate management companies, institutions, private investors, families and estates as well as international and local developers with responsibilities for advisory services, transaction management, market and financial analysis, and marketing strategies. Aric is currently handling more than 100,000 square feet of large-format retail, boutique and restaurant spaces throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn. Recent transactions he brokered include a 6,846-square-foot boutique hotel from Belgium at 38 East 23rd Street in Flatiron for the Goldman Estate. He also secured LOVE, a 9,555-square-foot restaurant at 319 Fifth Avenue in Midtown owned by Five Senses, for a private family ownership.
Aric joined Newmark in 2019, when parent company Newmark Group, Inc. acquired RKF Holdings LLC. He began at RKF as an associate director in 2018. Prior to joining RKF, Aric worked at Eastern Consolidated for four years. He previously managed logistics for an e-commerce electronics wholesaler, selling through 13 high-performing Amazon accounts with fulfillment centers throughout the U.S.
Aric is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY). He is a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of New York.
Aric graduated with Phi Theta Kappa honors in liberal arts from Kingsborough Community College. He has a BA in Speech Communication Studies from Brooklyn College.
