Newmark, one of the world’s leading commercial real estate advisors, has strengthened its German management team by hiring Mark Spangenberg, a respected and experienced leader in the commercial real estate industry, as its Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Germany. In the new role, Mark is responsible for the management of the German business, focusing on central corporate functions, implementing growth strategy and further developing business lines. Mark will also work closely with Country Managing Director Marcus Lütgering on strategic corporate development and function as the interface to the U.S. headquarters for all operational matters.
“With his many years of experience in the finance and real estate industries, Mark is an ideal addition to our management team. He combines in-depth expertise with outstanding skill, bringing exactly the qualities we need to successfully further develop our strategy in Germany,” says Marcus Lütgering, Country Managing Director of Newmark Germany.
Most recently, Mark spent nine years as COO Germany at CBRE, where he was responsible for central corporate functions and drove the strategic development of the German business. Prior to that, he headed the European business of EVO Payments (now Global Payments) and previously held management positions in payment transactions at Deutsche Bank for over 13 years.
“Newmark’s arrival in Germany has created a great deal of enthusiasm in the market. Together with our teams, I want to further expand our presence and create structures that combine stability and dynamism to lay the foundation for sustainable and successful growth,” says Mark Spangenberg.
