Sherry Sweeney is a Lease Administrator in Retail Occupier Services (ROS), a specialty practice within Newmark Global Corporate Services. Sweeney is responsible for day-to-day account management; processing monthly rent and one-time payments; preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports for assigned portfolios; performing desktop audits of all triple net reconciliations and abstracting lease documents for each tenant in an assigned portfolio, to ensure rent and triple net payments are in line with leases; ensuring that monthly, quarterly and annual lease administration deadlines are met, and that reports are accurate and delivered on time; and maintaining and updating the lease administration database, so that at all times it accurately represents all current leases, critical dates and options in the portfolio.
Sweeney has five years of retail lease administration experience. She joined Newmark in 2014 after approximately 10 years at Blockbuster, most recently with the real estate team. There, she managed the day-to-day lease administration activities for existing stores as well as the chain-wide opening and closing of stores. She began her career at Blockbuster in the supply chain department, where she acquired root cause analysis, process improvement and project management skills that she applies to her lease administration responsibilities to improve efficiency and process flow.
Sweeney earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas.
