As executive vice president of New York Brokerage Services, Sam Buckley is responsible for the company’s strategic direction, performance and growth in the firm’s Manhattan Midtown headquarters and Downtown offices. Sam collaborates with the company’s brokerage professionals and executive leadership team to drive success and create value for clients. Additionally, he fosters connections between all company service lines, including capital markets, debt and structured finance, global corporate services, retail, property management and more.
Sam joined Newmark in 2020, bringing to the company a wealth of expertise honed through his more than 30 years of industry experience. Most recently, he served as the senior vice president of leasing at the Manhattan headquarters of RXR, where he was responsible for managing retail leasing activity for multiple ground-up, mixed-use developments located across the New York metropolitan area. He also served for nearly five years as senior vice president of leasing for RXR in New Jersey, where he oversaw the successful leasing and marketing of the firm’s more than 2 million square feet of trophy office assets and where he was instrumental in the sale of more than $1.5 billion of assets. Sam then focused on Manhattan, Long Island and transit-oriented developments around New York City.
By the time he joined RXR, Sam had overseen more than 8 million square feet of suburban leasing on behalf of tenants and landlords in the New York metropolitan area, most recently at CBRE, joining that firm following its 2003 acquisition of The Edward S. Gordon Company. His previous experience also includes Jones Lang LaSalle, where he launched the company’s New Jersey brokerage team, which grew to 50 employees under his leadership. Sam also served as a vice president for nearly five years at SJP Properties, where he achieved market-setting rents in the firm’s 2million-square-foot portfolio.
