Robert Porto, MAI, currently serves as an Executive Vice President in Newmark Valuation & Advisory’s New York headquarters and as the Multifamily Specialty Practice Co-Lead for the NYC Metro Area. Porto brings over 20 years of valuation and consulting experience focusing on all forms of housing in the five boroughs of New York City, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley Region.
Expertise includes existing and proposed rental, condominium, and mixed-use developments, 80/20 and 70/30 apartment buildings, Mitchell-Lama developments, large- and small-scale conversions, cooperatives, branded residences, student housing, affordable housing (with low-income housing tax credits, submarket financing), land and development sites, air rights, Section 8 housing, co-living, homeless shelters and portfolio valuations.
During his career, Porto has served a wide variety of clientele including large money center commercial banks, regional banks, institutional lenders, private equity and debt funds, life insurance companies, REITs, credit unions, agency lenders, and owners and developers. Porto is also a qualified expert witness.
Porto came to Newmark after serving as an Executive Director at Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. for 20+ years, where he co-led the New York Multifamily Team.
