Rich Hoyt is a managing director with the Walnut Creek office of Newmark, specializing in tenant representation and corporate services. Mr. Hoyt represent tenants through the commercial lease renewal, relocation and sale processes for their single or multiple location requirements. Mr. Hoyt has a process-oriented approach to evaluating a company’s real estate needs and works tirelessly to achieve his client’s real estate goals. He has worked with numerous privately held and publicly traded companies on the acquisition of commercial space and the renewal or restructuring of their existing real estate obligations.
Mr. Hoyt joined the firm’s Walnut Creek office as a market research coordinator. In this position, he analyzed vacancy rates, lease rates, tracked market absorption and other market statistics, allowing him to gain an extensive understanding of how market variables can influence and affect a company’s lease or sale transaction. This knowledge has helped him to shape his tenant representation process so that he can best achieve his clients’ objectives.
Prior to joining Newmark, Mr. Hoyt worked with an established financial brokerage, where he gained a thorough comprehension of financial modeling, property valuation, the wholesale lending industry and the real estate escrow process. He also worked at a startup that focused primarily on commercial and residential lending, sales, acquisitions and marketing. In this role, Mr. Hoyt was responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations, which included recruitment, business development and marketing. This startup experience gave him a company owner’s perspective of the cost of doing business.
Mr. Hoyt earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from San Diego State University. He also spent a semester abroad studying political science at Oxford University.
