Reina Kawakami is a Senior Manager in the Retail Tenant Representation team in Newmark’s Korea office, specializing in cross-border retail expansion. She advises international and Korean brands on market entry, expansion strategy, and lease negotiations across Korea, Japan, and the U.S.
She has worked with brands across luxury, lifestyle, and contemporary segments, delivering execution-driven solutions aligned with each brand’s positioning and growth strategy. Her work focuses on high-street retail, with experience in shopping mall leasing projects in Japan, including driving expansion for Korean brands entering the Japanese market.
Reina works closely with clients as an extension of their team, combining data-driven insights with a strong ability to read market nuances beyond numbers. She collaborates with landlords and developers to navigate complex transactions and deliver commercially and strategically sound outcomes.
Prior to joining Newmark, she was part of Cushman & Wakefield Korea’s Cross-Border Retail Team, where she led inbound projects and drove outbound initiatives, particularly in Japan. She is now actively leading expansion into the U.S. and European markets.
