As a Director with Newmark, Michael Paster specializes in the representation of both landlords and tenants across New York City.
Paster has many prominent landlord clients, including ATCO, Edward J. Minskoff Equities. The Georgetown Company, Hidrock Properties, Nuveen Real Estate, Pan Am Equities, Pontegadea , Rockfeld Group, Ruben Companies, Tessler Developments, USAA and The Witkoff Group. In addition, Paster has negotiated numerous deals in New York City with well-known landlords such as Joseph P. Day, Savitt Partners, SL Green, Tishman Speyer and Vornado.
On the tenant side of his business, Paster works with well-known retailers in the New York City market, including &pizza, ‘wichcraft, CAVA, Cha Cha Matcha., GNC, La Colombe, Lids, Pret a Manger, Sally Beauty and Tacombi.
Paster successfully negotiated more than 40 leases on behalf of Pret A Manger. In addition, he worked on securing &pizza’s first three New York City locations. He most recently helped secure Sally Beauty’s first five Manhattan leases and is helping them continue their rollout across New York City.
On behalf of landlords, Paster leased more than 7,000 square feet at 630 Third Avenue to Dig Inn, Spear Physical Therapy and P.F. Chang’s for their first fast-casual concept; more than 3,000 square feet to Sticky’s Finger Joint at One Madison Avenue; 4,697 square feet to Lazzoni at 145 Madison Avenue; and 5,680 square feet to Maison Kayser at 575 Lexington Avenue. Most recently, Paster arranged leases with Chick-fil-A, Nuts Factory and Paris Baguette at 700 Sixth Avenue for a total of nearly 10,000 square feet; 6,245 square feet to Han Feng Group at 275 Fifth Avenue and a 30-year ground lease at 273 Fifth Avenue, also to Han Feng Group.
Paster is currently focused on leasing nearly 35,000 square feet at 270 Greenwich Street on behalf of Edward J. Minskoff Equities; 35,000 square feet at 881 Broadway on behalf of the Winter Organization; 33,076 square feet at 201 East 86th Street on behalf of Nuveen; 37,684 square feet at 734 Lexington Avenue on behalf of Pontegadea; and 13,172 square feet at 770 Third Avenue on behalf of USAA.
Paster joined Newmark in 2019, when parent company Newmark Group, Inc. acquired RKF, a retail real estate brokerage based in New York City. He began his real estate career with RKF in 2013 as a Canvasser.

Education
Paster earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in economics with a concentration in corporate strategy from Vanderbilt University. He is currently attending New York University in pursuit of his master’s degree in real estate finance.
