Boanerges Maximilien “Max” Alvarez joined Newmark Valuation & Advisory in January 2022 as a Valuation Associate in its Tampa, Florida office. He completes real property and going concern valuations of retail petroleum facilities and restaurants throughout the southeastern United States.
For the past eight years, Max’s valuation and consulting work has focused almost exclusively on retail petroleum facilities. He has provided consulting services to retail fuel suppliers and lenders throughout Florida, Georgia, and Texas. In addition to his retail petroleum focus, Max has significant experience in the appraisal of complex commercial properties and aircraft hangars (fixed base operators (FBO) and maintenance/repair operation (MRO)) in Florida and Alabama. Previously, he appraised industrial facilities, retail centers and office buildings throughout Puerto Rico.
Prior to joining Newmark, Max worked for eight years at Valbridge Property Advisors (formerly Capstone Valuation Advisors) as Co-Practice Group Leader of the Convenience and Retail Fueling Practice Group. Prior to that he appraised commercial real estate properties in Puerto Rico for 21 years with several local firms.

Education
Max is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Sciences degree in business and organizational leadership through Valencia College in Orlando, Florida. His professional education includes appraisal courses in theory and techniques, principles and applications for income property valuation, standards of professional practice, finance statistics and valuation modeling, sales comparison approach, cap rates for ad valorem appraisals, and evaluation of commercial construction.
