Matthew J. Schwartz recently joined Newmark’s Capital Markets team as an Associate Director in the Downtown Los Angeles office. Schwartz advises clients on analytics for property values tied to the acquisition and disposition of retail properties, including single-tenant, community, neighborhood and power center investments. He is dedicated to providing real estate investors with extensive market knowledge and making himself available to any and all inquiries concerning market or property overviews that an investor may need. He brings to the firm expertise in real estate finance that he earned during his two years as a loan officer for private money financing.
Prior to Newmark, Schwartz worked for CALCAP Financial in Pasadena, where he originated over $50 million in private money loans for residential investment property deals. He led his sales team as one of the firm’s top earners, demonstrating an aptitude for acquiring new clients and generating new leads, which in turn maximized profits and facilitated a one-stop-shop experience for borrowers and mortgage brokers alike.
