Kendall A. Beckman, MAI, joined Newmark Valuation & Advisory in 2017 and currently serves as a Senior Vice President in the firm’s Houston office. In this role, Ken is responsible for the valuation of all types of retail properties, feasibility studies, rent analyses; third party appraisal review services; and overseeing the Houston retail team of Newmark.
Specializing in the valuation of retail properties, Ken has appraised more than 400 net leased single tenant retail properties including drug stores, dollar stores, fast food restaurants, supermarkets and big box discount stores. He has also appraised a wide variety of retail centers including “town center” developments, lifestyle centers, outlet malls, neighborhood and community centers and regional malls.
Ken also has experience in litigation assignments, including the preparation of appraisals and providing expert witness testimony for lawsuits and federal bankruptcy proceedings. He has appraised properties in nearly 30 states, but has worked primarily in Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.
Since beginning his career in valuation in 1983, Ken has appraised a wide variety of property types including offices, industrial facilities, residences (multifamily and single family), hotels, medical offices, restaurants, hospitals, business parks, branch banks, parking garages, movie theaters, and special purpose.
Ken joined Newmark from CBRE, where he most recently served as a vice president and led the Houston Retail Valuation Team and was a member of the Net Lease Investment Group for Valuation & Advisory Services.
