Jonathan Schley is a Vice Chairman in Newmark’s Los Angeles office, focused on Global and National Retail Accounts.
Schley’s career spans multiple sectors within the commercial real estate industry, with a passionate focus on the retail and hospitality industries—both as an advisor and as an investor-owner. He is known for his work representing brands spanning luxury retail, beauty and hospitality.
Prior to joining Newmark, Schley was part of CBRE’s Retail Advisory and Transaction Services Group, expanding their practice to include a portfolio of brands at all stages of growth and with a specific expertise in international cross-border expansion. Schley also previously founded Schley Inc., which was similarly focused on strategic expansion initiatives for retail brands and hospitality companies, and has worked as President of Real Estate Operations for Open Listings Co., and Director of Retail Development for Tungsten Partners, where he led retail partnership strategy within and around Ace Hotel projects globally.
Education
Schley obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with a focus on International Relations and Comparative Politics, from Columbia University.
