John Heimburger is a Vice Chairman of Newmark.
Located in Newmark’s Charlotte office, he is responsible for multifamily brokerage and advisory services throughout the Carolinas. Since joining Newmark in 2006, Heimburger has been meaningfully involved in over $14 billion of multihousing investment sales throughout North and South Carolina totaling over 130,000 apartment units. He has worked with a broad range of clients in the Carolinas including merchant builders, REITs, fund advisers, life insurance companies, family offices and a host of syndicated private capital groups. He has also executed land sales and equity placement transactions with both new construction and existing redevelopment opportunities for developers and value add groups.
Prior to joining Newmark, Heimburger worked for Laureate Capital (now Grandbridge Real Estate Capital) as a financial analyst for the company’s asset management group overseeing risk on a portfolio of loans sourced through Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and several life insurance companies.
Heimburger attended Davidson College where he received his undergraduate degree with majors in Economics and Classical Civilization; he is a member of the National Multifamily Housing Council.
