Jeffrey T. Rouse MAI, serves as an Executive Vice President for Newmark Valuation & Advisory. Jeff specializes in the appraisal of retail petroleum facilities (gas stations, convenience stores, service stations, truck stops, car washes, etc.) and restaurants. He has experience with all elements of value: real estate, equipment and business intangible.
Jeff’s clients have included real estate lenders, enterprise lenders, franchisees and operators. He has completed or supervised the appraisal of more than 8,000 facilities located in 47 states and the District of Columbia. Since 1999, his primary geographical focus has been Southern California, having completed more than 4,000 appraisals within the state.
In addition, Jeff has provided expert testimony before state circuit and district courts and United States Bankruptcy Court in cases concerning condemnation, foreclosure and eminent domain. Jeff joined Newmark Valuation & Advisory in early 2020, when Newmark acquired the assets of Hopkins Appraisal Services, a national leader in the valuation of restaurants and retail petroleum facilities.
During his nearly 25 years with Hopkins, Jeff traveled the country as a managing director/principal and managed the team covering Southern California. Jeff previously worked for nearly four years at The Martens Companies, most recently as an appraiser and manager of the Kansas City office. He began as an associate appraiser in its Wichita office.

Jeffrey earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Wichita State University. More recently, he successfully completed and passed all Appraisal Institute courses required for MAI designation; all four modules of the Appraisal Institute Comprehensive Exam; and the General Demonstration of Knowledge Requirement through the Capstone Program.
