Gerald R. Sanders, MAI, AI-GRS, is a senior vice president with the New York office of Newmark Valuation & Advisory. His vast experience includes portfolio valuations for annual financial reporting, acquisition due diligence, purchase price allocations, cost segregation studies, project development, accessing capital markets, retail, hospitality, health care and hospitals, maximizing the value of real estate assets to the corporate enterprise, litigation and disposition strategy.
Mr. Sanders has 32 years of specialized real estate valuation and consulting experience. Prior to rejoining Newmark in 2010, Mr. Sanders worked for three years at Grubb & Ellis, where he managed the valuation practice and provided high-profile litigation support. From 2004 to 2007, Mr. Sanders grew Weiser Realty Advisors into one of the founding members and managed portfolio valuation audits. He also managed teams that valued partial minority interests in limited partnerships, joint ventures and limited liability companies, as an expert in the discounts taken for both lack of control and marketability. Prior to that, Mr. Sanders worked with Landauer Real Estate Counselors, where he was responsible for the management of CBD office and industrial valuations throughout the country.
