Erik Keniston joined Newmark Valuation & Advisory in 2020 as a Senior Vice President in the Phoenix office. With over 20+ years of experience, Erik specializes in the valuation of retail petroleum facilities, truck stops, car washes, quick lubes, and franchise restaurants with national coverage. Erik has worked on the valuation (real estate, business, and equipment) of more than 2,000 retail petroleum facilities and over 400 restaurant units.
Erik transitioned to Newmark upon its acquisition of Hopkins Appraisal Services, which specialized in retail petroleum facilities (gas stations, convenience stores, service stations, truck stops, car washes, etc.) and restaurants. During his two decades at Hopkins, Erik completed appraisals across the U.S., with a focus on the western part of the country.
Going Concern - SBA
- Per Chapter 4 of the SBA’s SOP 50, Erik has, within the last 36 months, completed no less than four going concern appraisals of special use properties (car wash, gas station with or without a convenience store, restaurant, etc.).

Education
Erik has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Marketing from Northern Arizona University. More recently, he has successfully completed numerous real estate-related courses and seminars under the continuing education requirements of the Appraisal Institute.
