Eileen Busel serves as Managing Director, within the Multifamily Capital Markets Debt & Structured Finance group specializing in FHA financing for new construction, refinancing, rehab and acquisition nationally. Besides originating new FHA business and managing clients through the FHA process from origination to closing, Busel works closely with borrowers to create debt alternatives for their multifamily properties. She brings over 25 years of experience working with FHA debt program nuances to match borrower goals, having had a previous role as Chief Underwriter at a HUD MAP lender.
Prior to joining Newmark Busel was a Managing Director at Greystone where she structured debt and equity transactions for multifamily apartments, and age-restricted housing across the U.S. as well as oversaw initial sizing of all potential new FHA loans for the platform.
Busel’s background includes experience as a MAP and LEAN approved Chief Underwriter for a boutique HUD lender, as well as roles in CMBS debt origination, director of in-house financing for a national developer and specialized work within a real estate consulting group. Busel has been involved with the successful closing of over 350 transactions exceeding $5.5B of FHA, agency and CMBS debt.
Education
Busel earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the New York University Stern School of Business with concentrations in finance and international business, a Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting from Boston University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
