Douglas Atkins, Senior Commercial Counsel, oversees and runs large complex commercial real estate transactions, including multi-property, multi-state portfolios. He has coordinated transactions as large as $1.5 billion and a portfolio involving more than two hundred and twenty sites across twelve states. He began his title career with LandAmerica Financial Group in 2005 and was most recently with Fidelity National Title Insurance Company.
Atkins also specializes in working with solar energy developers as well as retailers on sale lease back transactions. He is an expert in new construction financing involving affirmative mechanic’s lien coverage. Prior to joining the title industry, Atkins practiced law in Virginia from 1996 to 2005.
Education
Atkins graduated from the University of Virginia and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law. He lives with his wife and three children in Richmond, Virginia.
