David Mitchell, Vice Chairman, oversees all aspects of the transaction process from valuation, marketing and client contact, due diligence, negotiations of the purchase and sale agreement through deal funding. Mitchell is also involved in client development and debt/equity sourcing. He has been directly involved in approximately $12 billion in multifamily transactions since joining Newmark.
Prior to joining Newmark, Mitchell was a manager in the Capital Markets Group of a large corporation where he was involved in the financial analysis, due diligence, financing negotiations and the restructuring of a $600 million private equity portfolio. Before attending graduate school, Mitchell spent two years at Merrill Lynch & Co.
Mitchell received his BA and MBA from The University of Texas at Austin and is currently on the Advisory Council of the Real Estate Finance and Investment Center and the Chancellor’s Council Executive Committee at The University of Texas. Mitchell also serves on the business development board at Cadence Bank and serves on the steering committee for the Leaders of Tomorrow at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Mitchell is a board member of Valet Waste, the largest valet trash and recycling collection services company in the U.S., servicing over 500,000 apartment units per day.
