Daniel Katcher joined Newmark in 1996 as an Account Executive and currently serves as a Senior Managing Director at the company’s New York headquarters. During his tenure, Katcher has set himself apart as a diligent market analyst and multi-market tenant representative with a focus on New York City.
Katcher’s career experience includes negotiating an entire floor (25,000 square feet) for Yahoo!/GeoCities at 1065 Avenue of the Americas to accommodate their rapid growth and advising MapQuest.com through its expansive growth at 432 Park Avenue South and IPO prior to its acquisition by AOL.
In 2006, Katcher was hired by the private equity firm Lindsay Goldberg LLC, where he completed pre-acquisition due diligence and developed post-acquisition strategy through implementation for multiple portfolio companies, including EnergySolutions, Brock Group and Brightstar. The result was a net savings of $15.0 million. Today, Katcher assists Lindsay Goldberg with multiple real estate projects, adding value to its portfolio companies.
Katcher also serves as the New York tenant representative for Technicolor Inc. During this ongoing relationship, Katcher has completed many cost-saving transactions, both acquisition and disposition/lease restructures, including offices at 434 Broadway for the headquarters of its MPC subsidiary.
Over the past several years, Katcher has advised multiple fast-paced TAMI (technology, advertising, media and information) tenants on their New York leases, focusing on lease term flexibility and controlled upfront capital expenses. Clients have included 3QDigital, Conductor, EyeLock, FinancialForce, Maxymiser and Medallia.
An active member of his community, Katcher serves on the board of directors of Urban Pathways, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and at-risk New Yorkers obtain the housing, services and support they need to be self-sufficient.
