Brian J. Vanevenhoven, CRRP, serves as a Managing Director in Newmark’s Milwaukee office, where he brings more than two decades of experience in retail brokerage, specializing in leasing, tenant representation, land development advisory and investment sales. Over the course of his career, Mr. Vanevenhoven has built a reputation as a strategic and results-driven advisor to both national and regional tenants, institutional landlords and private ownership groups.
Mr. Vanevenhoven possesses extensive expertise in site selection and land assemblage for shopping center development, retail leasing strategy and the disposition of retail investment assets. He has developed a nationwide client portfolio that includes financial institutions and special servicers, for whom he has successfully brokered distressed asset sales, overseen leasing efforts for properties in receivership and played an integral role in the strategic management and disposition of REO portfolios.
In addition to his capital markets and advisory work, Mr. Vanevenhoven has cultivated long-standing leasing assignments for numerous shopping center owners, helping to stabilize and enhance asset performance through targeted merchandising strategies and proactive tenant outreach. He is widely regarded as a trusted advisor to his clients, providing thoughtful guidance on timing, positioning and market strategy to maximize asset value and optimize exit outcomes.
Prior to joining Newmark, Mr. Vanevenhoven was a Principal at Milwaukee-based MLG Commercial, where he played a key leadership role in the firm’s retail brokerage platform. In 2019, MLG Commercial was acquired by Newmark, forming the foundation of Newmark’s expanded Wisconsin presence.
