Aníbal Cortés is President of Newmark Chile. Cortés has more than 20 years of experience in local and international leasing advisory, development, asset management and strategic business line expansion. Cortés, along with Christian Goldberger, led the Chile company’s partnership with Newmark to form Newmark Chile in 2022.
Previously, Cortés worked at CBRE Chile, where he was in charge of developing the residential brokerage practice in Chile. In recognition of his performance and track record, Cortés was assigned the asset accounts of international funds DEKA Investmentfonds, Credit Suisse, Zurich and Union Investmet, as well as the representation of corporations including AngloAmerican, Sedgman, BTG Pactual, Google and South 32 Sierra Gorda, among others, for the relocation of their headquarters. Based on Cortés’ successful representation of several emblematic clients, he was awarded Top Producer Latin America in 2014, after which he was elevated to Manager of the Chile brokerage division. He was Co-founder and Director of LMK, a real estate services company that he formed in 2018, with a strong focus on representing clients with significant commercial real estate assets, providing advisory services for asset management, portfolio optimization and marketing of properties. Cortés is recognized for his connection with technology and Proptech ventures, having been a director of several startups and an investment partner and mentor to Chilean entrepreneurs.
Education
Cortés is a Commercial Engineer with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
