Adam Berry is a Vice Chairman in Newmark’s San Francisco office, where he is a senior member of the firm’s Western U.S. multifamily investment sales team. With over two decades of experience in the multifamily sector, Berry brings a deep understanding of Northern California real estate and a strong track record of strategic investment leadership.
Prior to joining Newmark, Berry spent 20 years with Essex Property Trust, a publicly traded REIT, where he most recently served as Chief Investment Officer. During his tenure, Essex’s market capitalization grew from approximately $1.5 billion to over $15 billion, and Berry oversaw more than $10 billion in transactional volume.
At Newmark, Berry focuses on advising clients on the acquisition and disposition of multifamily properties in San Francisco and across Northern California. He works closely with Newmark’s top-performing multifamily professionals to deliver strategic insights and value-driven results for institutional and private clients.
Education
Berry obtained his juris doctorate from the Gould School of Law at the University of Southern California and his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at San Diego.
