I work in our Planning and Development team based in London. I have extensive planning experience and frequently lead multi-disciplinary project teams. My expertise lies in managing large, often complex planning applications for a wide range of commercial, residential, leisure, and mixed-use developments within both Central and Greater London.
I have an expert understanding of planning matters affecting the London property market and well-established, collaborative relationships with officers at most London local planning authorities as well as within the Greater London Authority (GLA).
Key projects
- Paddington Square, Sellar Property Group - I led the team for the Paddington Square and Station redevelopment project on behalf of Sellar. This included a 18 storey ‘cube’ office building designed by Renzo Piano, a new 1.35 acre public piazza to redefine the entrance to the grade I listed Paddington Station, significant improvements to transport infrastructure including a new Bakerloo Line ticket hall, and major retail accommodation at street and below ground levels. This was a very complex project involving extensive engagement with TfL, LUL, Network Rail, and St Mary’s Hospital.
- Urbanest, Battersea - I advise Urbanest on all their purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) projects. This was a mixed-use scheme of up to 21 storeys including 870 student bed spaces, flexible office space, an enterprise business unit, and a replacement public house. The building is ultra-sustainable and has achieved world-leading Passivhaus accreditation.
- Brunswick Centre, Lazari - I led the team on the change of use of part of the underutilised lower ground floor car park at the Grade II listed Brunswick Centre, from ancillary car parking to a subterranean smart hotel to be operated by Whitbread under the brand of hub by Premier Inn. To facilitate the new hotel, which will be lit by circadian lighting, an innovative solution to retain and lower the existing basement slab will be used. This approach will deliver significant embodied carbon savings equivalent to a 98% reduction in carbon compared to the demolition of the slab.
- Faryners House, EREM - I am currently advising on this major office redevelopment scheme situated next to the Monument. It will deliver circa 13,500 sqm of grade A office accommodation, an uplift of 4,000 sqm, along with a new Visitor Centre, dedicated to the Monument.
