I am a Senior Associate in the Planning and Development team at Newmark’s London office. With a wealth of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) qualified property experience, my specialism is compulsory purchase and compensation, advising on land assembly, infrastructure projects, and valuation and compensation for regeneration and projects across the UK. My focus is on properties within the residential, industrial, retail and office sectors. I also have extensive experience in advising on compensation arising from the effect of new infrastructure such as roads and railways.
I advise owners and occupiers on the compulsory purchase process involving the assessment and negotiation of detailed claims for disturbance, valuation of property interests, and claims for the extinguishment of businesses.
In addition, I act on behalf of claimants throughout the compulsory purchase process including the negotiation of private treaty agreements in advance of compulsory purchase, submission of objections, assessment, and negotiation of claims for compensation following the service of statutory notices.

Key projects
- London Borough of Brent – I acted for the council preparing estimates of compensation, negotiating private treaty agreements for the acquisition of property interests on commercial properties in advance of Compulsory Purchase Orders. Advice has also included an arbitration requiring advice on development opportunities and marriage value of a former public house, unlocking a key development site.
- High Speed Two – I advised office, betting office and educational occupiers on compensation claims against HS2, including the assessment and negotiation of cases where businesses have been extinguished.
- Claim against Birmingham City Council – The claimant operated a business from a brownfield site in the Birmingham area which was acquired by the council. I prepared the claim for compensation which was subsequently referred to the Upper Tribunal (Lands Tribunal), finally being settled prior to the commencement of proceedings.
