Thomas M. Korpiel, MAI, is a vice president for the Pittsburgh office of Newmark’s Valuation & Advisory practice. Tom brings to his position 32 years of valuation and advisory experience. He has performed valuations and market studies on a wide variety of properties, including office buildings, medical office buildings, shopping centers, multifamily residences, net leased properties, student housing, industrial properties and vacant land.
Tom has completed assignments for financing, litigation support, feasibility determination, due diligence support and estate planning. His clients have included banks and financial institutions, life insurance companies, law firms, developers and investors, corporations and government agencies.
In addition to appraisals, Tom has provided expert testimony for ad valorem assessment appeals in the Court of Common Pleas in Allegheny County and the Board of Assessment Appeals in Allegheny, Westmoreland and Washington counties.

Education
Tom earned a Master of Business Administration degree from George Washington University. More recently, he has successfully completed numerous real estate and valuation courses and seminars sponsored by the Appraisal Institute, American Society of Appraisers, accredited universities and others.
