Skip Vanderbundt joined Newmark in 1992 and currently serves as a Senior Managing Director in the Sacramento office, where he focuses on the sale and leasing of industrial properties. His particular areas of specialization include lease negotiations, land acquisition, leased investments and build-to-suits. He is a past president of the Northern California Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR), an international organization of commercial real estate agents who have achieved a high level of performance and ethics.
Prior to joining Newmark, Vanderbundt worked at Grubb & Ellis Company, where was named Top Producer in 1990. He was also a regular member of Grubb & Ellis’ Century Club and consistently ranked among its Top Ten producers for eight of his ten years with the company.
Vanderbundt entered the Sacramento real estate market in 1983 after a successful professional football career. He had spent 10 years as an outside linebacker for the World Champion San Francisco Forty-Niners and one year with the New Orleans Saints.
Vanderbundt’s involvement in the Sacramento real estate community includes regular speaking engagements for various industry-related organizations and events, including annual real estate forecasts by the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce, Building Owners and Managers Association International (BOMA), Association of Commercial Real Estate (ACRE), the Urban Land Institute and Sacramento Women in Real Estate. He was awarded the “Key to the City of Sacramento” by the mayor for his work with children and community involvement with local and national charities.
Education
Vanderbundt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in social science with a secondary emphasis in landscape architecture from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. He was a college All-American football player and is an inductee of the State of Oregon Sports Hall of Fame, the Oregon State University Hall of Fame, and the Northern California Sports Hall of Fame.
