Peter Winterling began his successful career in the real estate industry when he joined Newmark in 1988, specializing in the sales and leasing of industrial and office properties.
During his 29 years with Newmark, Mr. Winterling has completed in excess of 1,500 lease and sale transactions. In 1995 and 1996, he was the recipient of the Worn Shoe Award, which is given each year to the agent with the highest number of completed transactions. He has also been a multiple-year nominee for the Association of Commercial Real Estate’s Industrial Broker of the Year award.
Mr. Winterling’s clients, who range from local start-ups to national firms, are the beneficiaries of his unparalleled market, transactional and negotiating experience. This hands-on experience provides him with the knowledge and ability to understand the elements of representation and a keen awareness of potential problems and most importantly how to avoid them.
Mr. Winterling has represented notable clients including Federal Express, Milgard Windows, Amana, the California Association of Realtors, the Franklin Fund, the county of Sacramento, Sacramento Medical Foundation and Wells Fargo Bank. Recent significant transactions include the sale of: 12.9 acres for McMillin Commercial: six buildings totaling 380,000 square feet for FJM Investments; 9104-9124 Elkmont Way to Universal Custom Display (100,650 square feet); 2441 Mercantile Drive (76,000 square feet) for Milgard Windows; and 5200 Golden Foothill Parkway for WinShip Properties (45,000 square feet).
Mr. Winterling’s activity in the representation of numerous clients, combined with an extensive leasing background, has led to strong working relationships with numerous tenants, investors, lending institutions and developers in the leasing, sales and build-to-suit of properties in the greater Sacramento area. Whether his clients are large or small, his goal is to represent their best interests and strive for a long-term relationship by exceeding his clients’ expectations.
Mr. Winterling earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from California State University at Chico in 1986. He has been a Sacramento area resident since 1967.
