Michael is a Director in Retail Occupier Services (ROS), a specialty practice within Newmark, and is responsible for lease negotiation, early termination negotiation, lease restructuring, and landlord relationship management for global retail occupier accounts:

As a Director, Mike brings over forty years of retail real estate analysis, brokerage and management at the regional and national level. With expertise in market analytics, development, asset management, sales and leasing, Mike has represented major developers, national retail chains, and major REITs.
Mike started his career with Jacobs Kahan in the 1970s leasing newly-developed strip center space, expanding responsibilities to regional shopping center anchor leasing and shopping center development management. He created and managed the company’s property management department and earned his Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM) designation from the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Mike then joined Harry F. Chaddick Realty (Chicago) as Director of Leasing growing to become Executive Vice President. Mike was personally responsible for hundreds of retail lease transactions, negotiating business terms and lease documentation with many of the nation’s retailers in their Chicago-area expansion.
Mike was then recruited by Rubloff Inc. as Vice President and National Director, Retail Properties Group directing the activities of brokers and leasing agents in Chicago, Atlanta, Houston and Detroit representing major REITS, developers and retailers for several years prior to becoming a founding principal of Litvin/LaRue/Greenfield, a commercial brokerage firm representing such retailers as Best Buy, Meijer, Starbucks, Hollywood Video and others in their Midwest expansion programs.
