Mike Thomas serves as senior managing director for the Southeastern region for Newmark Global Corporate Services’ Program and Project Management practice in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Thomas is involved in all phases of project management for clients, including project development, build-to-suit, tenant improvement, ground up project management, relocation management and consulting services.
As a project manager with Newmark, Mr. Thomas manages construction and building improvement projects from the planning phase through final completion and delivery to the client. He is responsible for the day-to-day contact with and for the client and for meeting project fiduciary requirements and time schedules. Mr. Thomas works with clients to define the project plan, create project deliverables and develop project budgets while ensuring that these project deliverables and budgets support business and company objectives. He also provides professional project planning support and management and has daily responsibility for all activities executed under the project plan for the assigned area. Other responsibilities include monitoring all phases of a project and promptly addressing any changes to the original scope of services and the impact to the project schedule and budget. Acting as the primary liaison to all client representatives and service providers operating on the project, he coordinates efforts between building operations and maintenance, security, owner’s representatives, architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and vendors.
Mr. Thomas joined Newmark from JLL, where he was employed as a senior project manager overseeing the East Coast Engineering and Operations construction portfolio for the T-Mobile account. Mr. Thomas completed several interior renovations for T-Mobile, notably a 40,000-square-foot renovation for the Legal Affairs group in Washington, DC. Mr. Thomas also managed ground-up construction of new retail banking centers for BBVA Compass Bank across the U.S. Prior to his employment at JLL, Mr. Thomas was a senior project manager for CBRE in New York City. In this position, Mr. Thomas performed numerous project management activities in Manhattan and Northern New Jersey, including several large-scale corporate interiors projects as well as capital improvement projects to commercial assets.
