McSean Thompson is a real estate broker specializing in the purchase, sale and exchange of senior housing investments in the state of Utah. McSean has been active in the senior housing investment space since 2014 and has since closed over $104 million of senior housing assets. In 2019 McSean was awarded with a CCIM Excellence Award for top specialty transaction in the state for his sale of the Spring Gardens assisted living portfolio, a $35mm transaction that closed in October 2018.
Immediately proceeding his ventures in senior housing investment brokerage, McSean completed a five-year engagement with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (“MoHESR”) in the United Arab Emirates (“UAE”). During his time at MoHESR McSean worked primarily on two projects, 1) the implementation of an annual $700 million funding model providing public colleges and universities with the funding necessary to be globally competitive and move the country into a knowledge-based economy, and 2) established the Centre for Higher Education Data and Statistics, a national data platform enabling reliable national benchmarks and global performance comparisons.
McSean brings these skills in consulting, data science and analytics to advise his clients on strategic improvements. McSean has consulted with dozens senior housing operators on how to implement operational improvements and has closed over $110 million in senior housing investments transactions.
McSean graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Chinese and Asian studies.
