Mark Utreras joined Newmark Retail in 2011 and currently serves as an associate director in the firm’s New York headquarters. Mr. Utreras works with Vice Chairman Jeffrey D. Roseman and his team, focusing on both landlord and tenant representation.
Mr. Utreras represents a number of prominent landlords and developers. His past and current ownership representation clients include Brause Realty, Carmel Partners, GFP Real Estate, Muss Development, RPW Group, RXR Realty, SL Green Realty and Triumph Hotels.
As a tenant representative, Mr. Utreras has uncovered opportunities and located high-profile sites for national and local tenants that include Blink Fitness, CityMD, Equinox, Haru, Peloton and Wendy’s.
Most recently, Mr. Utreras represented Muss Development at 64 West 48th Street, directly across from Rockefeller Center, where Dining Innovation has opened a 10,000-square-foot restaurant. It is its second location in New York and in the U.S. Other notable transactions include successfully completing the marketing and leasing campaign for over 16,000 square feet at the Edison Hotel in Times Square, where Bond 45 and Friedmans restaurants are now open. Additionally, Mr. Utreras assisted with the leasing of Peloton’s first New York City studio in Chelsea as well as with the roll-out of CityMD’s first eight locations. He helped secure NYX Professional Makeup, a L’Oréal brand, as a tenant for 41 Union Square West on behalf of Brause Realty. It is its first flagship store in Manhattan. Mr. Utreras also worked on the team that represented Equinox in its 40,000-square-foot lease at 315 Park Avenue South.
Mr. Utreras earned a Master of Science degree in real estate from Baruch College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal arts and business from Hofstra University. He is a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of New York and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) as well as the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY).
