As a senior property manager for Newmark, Lori Skillman is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management services for five different locations in Berkeley and Richmond, totaling approximately 842,012 square feet. Ms. Skillman oversees operations including, but not limited to, customer service levels, financial reporting and budgets, capital improvement projects and tenant improvements.
Ms. Skillman has more than 30 years of real-estate-related experience. Prior to joining Newmark, she was the Director of Commercial Property Services for Gerson Bakar & Associates in San Francisco for almost 15 years. Her responsibilities included the day-to-day management of up to six commercial properties totaling approximately 600,000 square feet, managing multi-million dollar tenant improvement projects on the owner’s behalf, preparing detailed annual operating budgets, preparing monthly financial packages for ownership review, managing vendor contracts and promoting good will with the tenants. She also served as the Marketing Director for over 8,000 apartment homes located in three states.
Prior to Gerson Bakar & Associates, Ms. Skillman resided in San Diego, where she obtained her college degree and began her career in real estate. During her time in San Diego, she managed a wide variety of commercial and residential properties, ranging from warehouse live/work loft units to Class A commercial office space, industrial sites, retail centers, restaurants and nightclub space.
