John Cobb functions primarily as a buyer and tenant representative, focused on protecting the interests of medical organizations and technology-related companies. Mr. Cobb also represents a limited number of property owners and investors with sales and leasing services and represents investors in their acquisition activities. This multi-disciplinary approach allows him to provide solid advisement irrespective of client intent and to leverage his specialized knowledge across the various areas his clients’ businesses frequently touch.
Aa degreed engineer, Mr. Cobb applies a thorough, systematic approach to all client matters. Be it a marketing strategy, lease restructuring versus relocation decision, a buy-versus-lease analysis, a net present value comparison, or a disposition strategy, his clients benefit from fact-based analysis accompanied by sound reasoning and data.
Prior to joining Newmark, Mr. Cobb was affiliated with Lynx Real Estate and their Healthcare Real Estate Advisors (HREA) division. During his tenure with HREA and Lynx, he represented medical practice groups, technology-related companies, property owners and investors in transactions ranging from a few thousand to over 40,000 square feet. Prior to his association with HREA, Mr. Cobb spent three years as vice president of sales and marketing for a privately held technology sales and installation company, where he was responsible for sales team development and production and all company marketing activities. Prior to that, he was BellSouth for over 10 years, where he served in BellSouth Mobility’s Operations Engineering group for five years, followed by five years in BellSouth’s Large Business Sales division. In the BellSouth sales organization, Mr. Cobb’s final assignment was that of national account manager, where he served all divisions of Time Warner for three years. Prior to BellSouth, he was a senior electrical design engineer with an device manufacturer.
Mr. Cobb has a Bachelor of Arts degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech.
